I’m Crystalle, a helicopter AME with nearly 28 years of experience. At 19, I relocated from Ontario to Yellowknife to pursue a career in aviation. I spent my early career traveling across the North as a helicopter field AME, supporting forest fire operations, wildlife management, and mineral exploration.
In addition to my technical expertise, I hold a certificate in Adult Education and have several years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor, teaching at both a private school in Yellowknife and Nova Scotia Community College. I have written Type course training materials, training manuals, and held an ATO from Transport Canada for the MD 500 helicopter.
Currently, I am the Lead AME at Great Slave Helicopters’ Yellowknife base, where I help oversee hangar floor maintenance, the maintenance department hiring process, development, and delivery of maintenance training, including maintenance related pilot training.
I live in Halifax with my husband and our two children, aged 10 and 7. We love making maple syrup together on our property and are always up for new adventures.
I travel to Yellowknife for work and spend the off-season managing our maintenance team and supporting the growth of our apprentice program through training and mentorship. During the operational season, I work in the field, maintaining helicopters across some of Northern Canada’s most remote locations. I firmly believe in leading by example.
I have been involved with Elevate since 2019 and currently serve as the Atlantic Ambassador. I also assist with CCTs in Halifax, Debert, and Yellowknife as my schedule allows. In 2024, I was part of Elevate’s AME competition team and had the opportunity to travel to Toronto and Chicago.
Outside of work, I volunteer with Skills Canada and my daughter’s Girl Guide group. I am also in the process of becoming the Honorary Colonel for 14 Wing in Greenwood, NS.
