Laurane Lestan

Laurane’s story in aviation is all about passion, resilience, and adaptability. Her love for flying started as a teenager in France, where she discovered the thrill of soaring through the skies. At just 19, she made the bold choice to move to Canada on her own, kickstarting her career flying for Air Inuit and embracing new adventures. In 2020, Laurane joined Nav Canada to take the IFR course, but the pandemic had other plans. Instead of slowing her down, it led her to a meaningful role as an internal aviation auditor and emergency response lead at a Montreal-based airline. Fast forward to 2023, and she’s thriving as the Manager of Operations for IATA’s IOSA RBI program, connecting with airlines and auditors worldwide. Driven to make a difference, she also launched the program’s first all-women audit team, breaking barriers and paving the way for others. Her dedication extends beyond the workplace as Chair of the 99s Quebec Chapter and an Elevate volunteer, inspiring women in aviation. A lifelong learner, Laurane is pursuing a degree in aviation management while juggling life as a devoted mom to her energetic 4-year-old, a loving wife, and a caretaker to her cherished dog.
