Kristin has dedicated over 30 years to aviation, combining her passion for flying with a commitment to mentorship, leadership, and advocacy. Born in Montreal and raised in Oakville, she earned her BSc in Geography from the University of British Columbia and her Commercial Pilot Diploma at Coastal Pacific and the University of the Fraser Valley while working as a flight attendant at Air Canada. Kristin began her flying career in Winnipeg with Perimeter Airlines before joining WestJet, where she has been a 737 Captain for 21 years.
Beyond the flight deck, Kristin serves as a Standards Pilot, a key member of the IATA Operational Safety Audit team, and a facilitator for WestJet’s Captain Command Course, where she helps develop leadership skills in new captains. She also volunteers on WestJet’s ALPA Professional Standards Committee, fostering a culture of professionalism and respect.
Kristin is an Honorary Colonel with the Royal Canadian Air Force and Chair of the RCAF Foundation. She was the founding President of Northern Spirit, Winnipeg’s Women in Aviation Chapter, and is co-chair of the Girls in Aviation Day program in Winnipeg. Kristin is also a proud mom to two teenage boys and is passionate about inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals.
