We love to share our stories and connect you with the world of aviation, so in 2021 we will be bringing our Cross Country Tour to you virtually!
The 2021 Virtual Cross Country Tour is free of charge and can be watched entirely on YouTube. We will feature a different aspect of aviation each day for five days. This is an opportunity for women of all ages to explore the variety of careers available in aviation and hear from women who are passionate about what they do. You will hear stories and learn some really cool things about careers as Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots, Drone Pilots, Aerospace Engineers, and the variety of Airport Operations roles.
March 8, 2021 – Pilots
There are a wide variety of career paths in aviation for pilots. We will hear from an airline pilot, a military helicopter pilot, a flight instructor, and a charter pilot to find out how each career path is different and what each of them do!
March 9, 2021 – Aerospace Engineers
What exactly is the role of an Aerospace Engineer and how do you become one? We have several Engineers who have extremely unique jobs and are excited to share what they are working on!
March 10, 2021 – Aircraft Maintenance Engineers
We will explore Aircraft Maintenance with engineers who specialize in structures, avionics, and military aircraft. And with only 2% of AME’s being female, how did these women find their way into aircraft maintenance?
March 11, 2021 – Drones and Airport Operations
Find out how drones are becoming an important part of the future of aviation, as well as the huge variety of things they are used for. We will also dive into jobs in airports such as safety, fire fighting, and business operations.
March 12, 2021 – Air Traffic Services
Learn about how planes move through the sky and who they talk to along the way – from choosing their route, taxiing down the runway, and flying the highways in the sky.
