Getting Started
What is Echo and who is it for?

Echo brings mentorship, connection, and career growth together—empowering people and organizations at every level of aviation to grow, network, and thrive. It connects mentors, mentees, and aviation organizations, while offering courses and resources to support career growth. Whether you’re an experienced professional or just starting your aviation journey, Echo will connect you with resources that foster career growth and fulfilment.

  • Mentee – For individuals looking to grow their careers. Mentees can connect with experienced mentors, set goals, and access resources to build skills and confidence.

  • Mentor – For aviation professionals. Mentors can provide guidance, develop leadership skills, and make a lasting impact by helping the next generation of aviation talent thrive.

  • Mentor & Mentee – For those who want to both provide and receive guidance, this dual role allows users to support others while continuing to learn and grow themselves.

  • Corporate Account – For aviation organizations. Corporate accounts can engage with aspiring and established aviation professionals, share industry insights, publish content, and attract top aviation talent while demonstrating leadership in workforce development.

Start by visiting the Echo web page and select “Sign Up.” Please note that your profile must be created through the website before you can log in to the mobile app. Once your profile is set up, you can use the same login credentials on the mobile app to access mentorship and all other features.

The web app is where you create and customize your Echo profile, browse professional development content in the marketplace, and update your information as needed.

The mobile app is designed for day-to-day networking and mentorship. On mobile, you can connect directly with mentors and mentees, communicate through in-app messaging, voice, and video calls, and explore professional development content from the Marketplace – all from your phone, iPad, or tablet.

To help create a secure and trustworthy environment, we’ve included an identity verification feature. During setup, you’ll be asked to take a real-time selfie to ensure the person behind the screen is the same person shown on the Echo profile! 

 

Note: Your real-time photo is never seen by anyone and is used solely for verification. Our built-in software automatically checks for a match to ensure authenticity.

Mentorship & Networking
How are mentorship matches made?

Mentorship matches are now made directly through the Echo app. After completing your profile and career information, the app uses your info to suggest compatible mentors or mentees. You can view potential matches, connect, and communicate all within the app.

  • If you’d like to connect with someone, swipe right on their profile or tap the airplane icon.
  • If you’re not ready to connect, swipe left or tap the X icon. Don’t worry, you can take note of their name and search for them later if you change your mind!
  • To navigate backward in the feed, tap the back button in the top left corner!

All communication happens securely through the Echo app. You can message, voice/video call, and set goals all in one place. No external emails needed!

Yes! Profile details can be updated at any time.

  • Mentees can change their area of interest and desired specialization.

  • Mentors can update their area of expertise and current specialization.

 

How to Edit Your Profile

  • Web App: Log in, click the dropdown menu next to your name in the top-right corner, and select “Edit Profile.”

  • Mobile App: Tap the Profile tab in the bottom-right corner. From the menu, select “Profile,” then tap “Edit Profile” at the top of the screen. This will open the editing page in your mobile browser.

Filters can be accessed by tapping the icon in the top-right corner of the connect screen. Once applied, your feed will only show users who match the traits you’ve selected.

If you have applied any filters, you can try reducing the number of filters to see more users! You can also check back later as more users continue to join Echo. 

Yes. Once you’ve joined through Echo, you’ll have access to mentorship resources, orientation materials, and optional training designed to help mentors and mentees get the most from their experience.

Professional Development Resources
Where can I find professional development resources on Echo?

Professional development resources can be found in Echo’s Marketplace, which can be accessed on both the web application and mobile application! 

Web App: 

  • Filter by content type using the menu at the top of the screen
  • Search for specific content items by title using the search bar
  • View content from specific aviation organizations by selecting the “Industry Partners” tab at the top of the screen next to the profile dropdown menu. 

 

Mobile App: 

  • Select the Marketplace tab in the menu at the bottom of the screen
  • Filter by content type by selecting the filter icon in the top right corner of the screen
  • Search for specific content items by title using the search icon located in the top right corner of the screen, next to the filter icon
  • View content from specific aviation organizations by selecting the organization from the sliding menu at the top of the screen

Yes, aviation organizations that sign up on Echo as a Corporate Account can upload industry-relevant content to Echo, sharing it directly with Echo’s vibrant community of aviation professionals.

Accounts & Subscriptions
What subscription plans are available for individuals?

Echo offers flexible subscription tiers for mentors, mentees, and those who act as both mentor & mentee! A free option is available to everyone, and premium tiers unlock even more opportunities, such as unlimited access to professional development content and extra mentor connections to help take careers to new heights.

 

All plans are designed to be affordable and accessible.

 

Plus, all proceeds directly support the growth of Echo and fuel Elevate Aviation’s mission to empower women and underrepresented groups in aviation through education, career development, and workplace culture solutions. By subscribing, you’re not just investing in yourself; you’re helping strengthen the entire aviation community.

Echo’s corporate subscriptions are designed with flexibility in mind, offering tiered options to match your organization’s goals, budget, and level of engagement. Whether you choose a monthly payment plan for added flexibility or a one-time annual payment for greater value, corporate accounts make it simple to spotlight your brand, share industry insights, and engage with aviation professionals across Canada.

Web App: Log in, click the dropdown menu next to your name in the top-right corner, and select “Subscription”

 

Mobile App:

  1. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom-right corner.

  2. From the menu, select Profile, then tap Edit Profile at the top of the screen. This will open the editing page in your mobile browser.

  3. On the edit profile page, tap your circular profile picture in the top-right corner (next to the search bar) to open the dropdown menu.

  4. Select Subscription from the dropdown.

Yes, you will retain access until the end of your current billing cycle. Refunds are subject to the Echo Terms & Conditions, see section 5. Payment Terms,  for more information. 

Technical & Support
How do I report a bug or technical issue?

Fill out this Contact Form to report any issues encountered on Echo. 

Navigate to the login screen of eithert the web app or mobile app and select “Forgot Password”.

Privacy & Safety
What should I do if I encounter inappropriate behavior?

To report someone, go to their profile and tap the three dots in the top-right corner to select “Report.” We also recommend unmatching with the user—this will prevent them from seeing your profile or matching with you again.

 

Upon receiving the report, our team will review and take appropriate action. You may also Contact Us anytime if you require additional assistance. 

Yes. All conversations between Echo users are private and cannot be seen by other parties. 

Reporting: You can report someone by visiting their profile and clicking the three dots in the top right corner, then selecting “Report”

 

Blocking: Unmatching with a user will block them. You can unmatch with a user by visiting their profile, clicking the three dots in the top right corner, and selecting “Remove Mentor/Mentee”.

Demographic information collected during sign-up is private and cannot be seen by other Echo users – unless you choose to display it on your profile by licking the checkboxes! Privacy settings can be updated anytime on the edit profile screen

 

We collect demographic information to: 

  1. Measure our success in reaching women and underrepresented groups in aviation.
  2. Measure our success in diversifying the aviation workforce.
  3. If preferred by mentees, facilitate matches based on similar demographics to create a more personalized and relatable mentoring experience.
