Stella Filippatos is currently Director, Program Management, Electrical Aircraft where she leads the development of the CAE electric aircraft program.
In this role, Stella is responsible for leading CAE’s cross-functional internal teams as well as managing the external electric aircraft partnerships and suppliers.
Her teams are responsible for delivering the engineering definition, the industrial implementation, the commercial program, and financial business case as well as the successful entry into service of the new CAE electric aircraft.
Stella has 20 years of experience in the field. She joined CAE in 2006 as an Avionics Systems Specialist and subsequently took on the role of Proposal Solutions Manager. She later worked at Bombardier from 2010 to 2019, where she occupied several roles of increasing responsibility in product management, engineering, supply chain and business strategy & transformation. Upon her return to CAE in 2019, Stella took on a leadership role in the Civil Product Management team.
A veteran in aerospace program development, Stella holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique, as well as an MBA from Concordia University.
Stella enjoys presenting to university and college students about the importance of joining STEM related fields and some advice on early career pitfalls to watch out for, as well as employee resource groups aimed at attracting a more diverse workforce to aviation.
