Celebrating Success: Elevate Aviation CEO, Kendra Kincade’s Impact and Recognition in 2024

In a remarkable achievement, Elevate Aviation’s Chief Executive Officer, Kendra Kincade has been honored with the prestigious Inspirational Role Model award at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Awards. This award, presented during the World Air Transport Summit in Dubai, is a testament to Kendra’s outstanding contributions to fostering diversity and inclusion within the aviation industry.

Pioneering Initiatives

Under Kendra’s leadership, Elevate Aviation has been a beacon of change since incorporation in 2015, particularly in promoting gender balance and inclusivity. The organization has consistently championed initiatives that empower women and underrepresented groups, making significant strides in creating a more inclusive aviation sector. Programs include Mentorship,  Bursaries, Cross Country Tour, Inspire, Elevate Aviation Learning Centre, and Elevate Aviation Consulting.

The Cross Country Tour is just one of Elevate Aviation’s flagship programs. It is an annual event that brings aviation professionals to communities across Canada. This tour, which recently completed its 8th edition, offers inspirational talks, behind-the-scenes airport tours, and interactive sessions with industry experts. The tour aims to spark interest in aviation careers among youth, particularly young women, and to showcase the diverse opportunities available in the industry.

In 2022 Elevate Aviation established the Elevate Aviation Learning Center. This facility offers a kindergarten to career approach to aviation awareness and training. Programs provide hands-on training and education for those interested in aviation careers, helping to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity. The center offers various programs, including Junior Jets (for ages 5-10), Aviation Career Exploration (for ages 11-18), Aviation Readiness Training (ages 18+) and Elevate U (for those already employed in aviation).

Inspirational Leadership

Kincade’s leadership has been pivotal in driving the success of Elevate Aviation. Her vision and dedication to promoting gender diversity have inspired many within the industry. She has also extended her work beyond the organization’s initiatives; having directed and produced the feature-length documentary “Only Up,” which highlights the stories and achievements of women in aviation. This documentary serves as both an inspiration and a call to action for greater gender equality in the field.

Impact and Recognition

The recognition from IATA is not just an award but a validation of Elevate Aviation’s relentless efforts and impact. The Inspirational Role Model award acknowledges Kendra’s role in advancing diversity and inclusion, setting a standard for others in the industry to follow. The award also shines a spotlight on the importance of creating inclusive environments where everyone, regardless of gender or background, has the opportunity to succeed.

This award is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through dedication, vision, and a commitment to inclusivity. As Elevate Aviation continues to grow and expand its initiatives, it remains a cornerstone in the movement towards a more diverse and inclusive aviation industry.
